Why is Dart Blast Challenge so cheap?

Basically, my service is a really good Nerf war which you can have at your party or event. I choose not to automatically include lots of other services in my offering because, frankly, people might not want them!

This means that I can offer a fantastic Nerf war near you at a great price and allow you to pick and choose what else you want to include so you can customise what I do for you.

How does a Dart Blast Challenge Nerf War look?

Like this!

Where abouts in the country does Dart Blast Challenge run parties?

A. We currently provide Nerf wars for parties and events in West Yorkshire, South Yokshire, North Yokshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Nottingham and Leicester.

This “Nerf War Master”… does he know what he’s doing?

A. You be the judge!

Justajolt, our head Nerf War Master, organises a monthly community Nerf event attracting up to 100 people from all over the country, regular commercial Nerf events at The Works Skatepark in Leeds and Mags On The Ramps in Halifax, runs a Nerf YouTube channel and has a substantial collection of Nerf blasters and attachments.

Collectively, our Nerf war masters have been involved in running 190 Nerf events, serving over 3700 Nerfers during over 260 hours of Nerf Wars (we’ve counted!)

They’ve run Nerf Wars and Nerf parties from York to the Isle of Wight, both indoors and outdoors for private parties, school holiday clubs, corporate groups, commercial Nerf events and not for profit Nerf events. We’d even go to Guernsey or Jersey too, if we’re invited!

Feedback from events on Facebook and Netmums highlight their organisation and control whilst running Nerf wars (not surprising considering the head GamesMaster’s experience as a mainstream classroom teacher!) as well as their infectious enthusiasm.

So you’ve run one or two Nerf wars at Nerf parties, then?

Yep. You know how this page takes a while to load? It’s because of all the pictures in the side-bar! My Nerf wars have been refined by running events of all sizes from 5-50 participants, for Nerfers of all ages from 5 – very mature (I’ve seen some ultra competitive Grandads and Grandmas who just couldn’t stop themselves… I kid you not!), and all abilities, in venues from small church halls to entire football pitches. Matching the Nerf war to the participants, venue and occasion is an art form and I’ve got it down!

How do you compare with your competitors?

Pretty well, actually! At time of typing, this is what came up when I Googled “Nerf Party”:

Nerf Gun Party

Nerf Parties at Goals

Ultimate Nerf Party (Those first three are the same company, and provide the same packages, but I’m sure they’ll appreciate the backlinks anyway!)

Nerfday Boys

Nerf Parties Leeds

Xtreme Nerf Combat

Whizzfit

Results may vary according to your location, but take a look for yourself!

Wait… so you’re telling me to go and look at your competitors’ websites?

Yes.

So, now that I’ve looked at your competitors, what makes you unique?

I know Nerf. For a start I have a collection of around 200ish blasters:

And I’m a Britnerfer who runs regular not-for profit community Nerf events in addition to events for parties, groups and team building:

I also make videos like this:

And this:

I’m justajolt.

Q. What sort of cover and Nerf obstacles do you provide?

A. Your safety is a key element of a fun Dart Blast Challenge Nerf party or Nerf event. Nobody will be having fun if they get taken out of a game due to an unnecessary mishap. For this reason, your Nerf arena will be have soft, light, pop-up Nerf obstacles which won’t hurt if run into by participants. We have around 40 of these! To add atmosphere, your base mobstacles will be covered with camouflage netting (camo netting) to build a fast-past game arena with strategic choke points, cover and bases which are coloured differently (using arctic blue and desert tan netting) to the rest of the field and are easily identifiable.

Q. Can you cater for our large group?

A. In short, your large group wont be a problem! Your Nerf War Master is used to running large events! Your Nerf War will be organised by people who also run regular Nerf War Grim Up Nerf (attracting up to 100 participants from around the country) and the regular Foam Dart Thunder Nerf War at the Works Skate Park in Leeds (catering for up to 60 Nerfers at a time) and Mags On The Ramps in Halifax. Get in touch and ask about discounts for large groups and longer events!

Q. Are Nerf Guns Dangerous?

A. In short, yes. As with any activity involving fast moving objects and people such as football, cricket, tennis, golf, running, riding a scooter, cycling or driving, precautions need to be taken to manage risk.

Q. How does Nerf Parties Leeds manage the risks of Nerfing?

A. At Dart Blast Challenge Nerf parties, we use stock (unmodified) Nerf blasters. This means that the foam darts fired from them won’t cause the bruising (another word for internal bleeding and swelling!) or welts associated with air soft or paintball.
It doesn’t take an NHS doctor to recognise that being hit in the eye is clearly the major risk in Nerfing. At Dart Blast Challenge Nerf parties, we insist on eye protection being worn at all times during games and eye protection only being removed between games whilst all blasters are placed on the ground. Having been involved in over300 hours of Nerf Wars catering for over 4000 Nerfers, we have found this to be the best way to avoid accidents.

Q. What’s your privacy policy and how are you complying with the new 2018 GDPR?

Following is a summary of the data we hold, what we do with it and why.

If you’ve made an initial inquiry about a Nerf war at your event, we hold your name, email address and telephone number. This information is transferred from Microsoft Outlook or Facebook, depending on how you got in touch, to a Google Docs spreadsheet. We record this information on a spreadsheet to help us make sure we don’t double book events, or book more parties than we have Nerf War Masters for. There are three people who’ll see this: The person answering your inquiry and the two GamesMasters.

If unused, this information is deleted from the spreadsheet when the date you enquired about has passed.

If you make a booking and have a party or Nerf war with us, we maintain a record of your name and contact details for one months in case we need to get in touch about the event. Then we delete your details from our spreadsheet.

Additionally, if you make a booking and have a party or Nerf war with us, we ask you if you’re OK with photos and video being taken for promotional purposes. You can see how we use these by scrolling down our website, checking out our Facebook page and viewing some of our Media there. We use media from events because a picture is worth a thousand words, and we want to share memories of your event with you as well as show off what we do best.

None of the pictures or video clips are posted, tagged or stored with personally identifiable information such as names, so you’re the only one who’ll know who’s in them, unless you tag them otherwise on Facebook. This data is also held on external storage devices and hard drives for use in future promotional slide shows or trailers, often with funky music. These are all saved without personally identifiable file names.

You can access the photos you’ve said we can take at any time on Facebook or the Nerf Parties Leeds Website. Of course, you have a right to ask for any pictures you don’t like to be taken down and deleted from our records. Just ask if that’s the case, and supply the date of your event so we can identify the photos to remove them from everywhere we have them.

If you leave us a review on Facebook, we may use your name to get in touch with you if you win one of our prize draws. Please do forgive us for that!

Q. Do you have any terms or conditions of service?

Yes.

By booking a party, you acknowledge that you agree with the following:

In order to have fun and play, children need to feel safe and secure. You can expect your Gamesmaster to control every aspect of play to ensure maximum engagement, fun and the well-being of your participants during your Nerf war.

You Gamesmaster will probably be enthusiastic and loud. You wouldn’t believe the difference the echo in a hall can make, or how badly sound travels outside, so a Gamesmaster has to use their voice and whistle direct the event, for the sake of safety and to help the participants get into the games… Enthusiasm is infectious after all!

If you know of any children who are sensitive to loud noises who will be in attendance (for example, children with Asperger’s) you should make them and parents aware that this will be a loud party. This can be moderated to suit a group with special needs, but generally, the children will have more fun if the Gamesmaster is bouncing off the walls.

Our Gamesmaster takes their responsibility to keep all the children under their care safe seriously. Because of this, they deliver a full safety briefing before play, insist on blasters being put down in between rounds whilst rules are explained and wearing eye protection during games.

Additionally, the Gamesmaster needs to keep all participants safe by managing and directing behaviour, and expects your support if he temporarily removes any child from play for bullying other players, hitting other players, swearing or refusing to wear eye protection.

Policy in these cases is to remove participants to sit briefly with an adult before re-inviting them back into play. Whilst this is a rare occurrence, kids will be kids and safety during our events is paramount, so it is expected that you will be supportive of decisions to manage bullying, hitting, swearing or other behaviours which could detract from the event in a timely way before it is allowed to spoil things for others.

Before the close of the Nerf war, the Gamesmaster will ask participants to help with picking up darts, snowballs, dynamite, Nerf blasters and other paraphernalia that will be in the playing area. Whilst you are not expected to help picking all of this up, it is expected that you are verbally supportive in encouraging participants to help out with the final dart sweep.
